pregnancy self-test

For self-testing Test för självdiagnostik
PRINCIPLE
Read the instructions carefully before using this test. The EXACTO® SIMPLY sensitive pregnancy test detects
pregnancy under a urine stream and is designed for quick self-diagnosis. The test’s sensitivity (25 mIU/ml) helps
detect pregnancy in 3 minutes with a high degree of accuracy (> 99%), as early as the day after your expected
period start date.
PRECAUTIONS
Please read all the information in this leaflet before performing the test.
• Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the aluminum pouch.
• Store in a dry place at a temperature between 2°C and 30°C. Do not freeze.
• Do not use the test if the pouch is torn or damaged.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• For in vitro diagnostic use only. External use only.
• Open the test pouch only when you are ready to use it.
• Used pregnancy tests must be discarded in accordance with regulations in force.
EQUIPMENT PROVIDED
An aluminum pouch containing 1 test and 1 sachet of desiccant, 1 set of directions for use.
WHEN TO PERFORM THE TEST
The test can be performed at any time of day, but morning urine is optimal due to its high levels of hCG. A
morning test should be performed before drinking anything.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Take the test out of its aluminum pouch and use it within one hour.
2. Remove the cap from the pregnancy test and direct your urine stream onto the strip, or submerge it for at least
15 seconds in a urine sample collected into a clean container. Ensure that the 5 holes in the plastic part of the
test are placed in contact with the urine.
3. Replace the cap onto the tip, place the product on a clean and stable surface and start the stopwatch
immediately.
4. The result should be read after three minutes at the least and will no longer be reliable after 10 minutes.
READING THE RESULTS
PREGNANT
Two coloured lines will appear. One of the lines will be in the control area (C) and the other in the test area (T).
The fact that one line is lighter than the other has no impact on the results.
This means that you are probably pregnant.
NOT PREGNANT
A coloured line will appear in the control area (C).
No line will appear in the test area (T).
This means that you are probably not pregnant.
INVALID RESULT
The result is invalid when no coloured line appears in the control area (C), even if a line appears in the test area
(T). Repeat the procedure with a new pregnancy test.

RESTRICTIONS
1. Medicinal products that contain hCG (such as Pregnyl, Profasi, Pergonal and APL) can give false positive
results. Alcohol, oral contraceptives, painkillers, antibiotics and hormone treatments that do not contain hCG
should not affect the test result.
2. Apart from pregnancy, several medical conditions such as ovarian cysts or an extrauterine pregnancy
(developed outside the uterus) may lead to high hCG levels and give a false positive result.
3. This test provides a presumed pregnancy diagnosis. A confirmed pregnancy diagnosis can only be made by a
doctor after assessing clinical and laboratory results.
